Escape Room "Beat-the-Bomb"

One of New York City's best escape rooms was expanding to Atlanta and needed help printing out parts for the game.  The parts had already been printed out before but they were being revised for the Atlanta and later the Washington DC locations.  The parts hold a plastic tube that creates a laser light that players have to avoid.

Zager 3d first looked over the CAD files and made some recommendations to make the prints as efficient as possible.  A test print of the parts was also done to test for fit and strength.  These parts were designed to fit onto 12" x 12" print beds so the parts were kept around 10" in length. Snaps were added so the parts could be assembled.

A total of 26 parts of various quantities were printed for a grand total of 940 prints.  Tough PLA was used as the parts will only be used indoors and also the snap fittings needed some flex to snap into place.

Flexible Manufacturing

Half of the parts were shipped to the New York location and great care was given to packing so that no parts were scratched.

By the way, if your team does not figure out the escape room in time you get blasted with paint!

Have a blast at
